Finding members

How do I find members?

Open Members (you must be signed in). You can filter by age, city and radius in kilometres, and specify gender, what people are looking for and orientation. Two options help you narrow your search: “Online now” and “With photo only”.

Distance is calculated from the city entered in each profile. The site does not use the location of your device.

Why doesn’t my profile appear in search results?
  • Confirm your email and complete the essentials first. Your profile must be visible: preview and explicitly publish it from My profile. A city is required for this. As long as your profile is hidden, nobody can see you.
  • Your email address must be confirmed and your account must be active (not deactivated or suspended).
  • Your photos are visible to other members as soon as you upload them (see below).
Can I hide my profile without deleting my account?

Yes. In My profile, choose “Hide my profile”: it disappears from search and from the profile pages, but nothing is deleted. Your photos and settings are kept, and your ongoing conversations keep working in both directions; however, nobody can write to you for the first time. Make it visible again whenever you wish.

Can I browse without appearing “online”?

Yes. In My profile, tick “Browse in invisible mode”: you no longer appear “online” to others, and your latest activity is no longer used to sort their search results. You can turn this off at any time.

Contacts and visitors

What is “My contacts” for?

It is your private address book. On a member’s profile, press “Add to my contacts”; you can attach a note that only you can see. The member is never told. Find your list in Contacts.

How can I find out who viewed my profile?

Turn on “Visits to my profile” in My account. The feature works both ways: you see the visits of members who have also turned it on, and they see yours. Only the most recent visit from each member is kept, for 14 days. Nothing is recorded in invisible mode, and the list of your visitors is not displayed while you are in it. Turning the feature off immediately erases all the recorded visits, made or received.

Events

How do I propose an event?

On the Events page, choose “Propose an event” (you must be signed in). The moderation team reviews it before it is published. Follow its status, edit it or cancel it under “My events”. Your username never appears on the event.

Who can see that I am going to an event?

No one. Others see only how many members have answered “I’m going” or “Interested”, never who.

Adult section

What is the adult section?

An optional space, separate from the rest of the site, with its own profile, its own albums and its own search. Explicit content is allowed there, between consenting adults. Only the members who have activated it see what you post there; the others do not know that you take part. To activate it, open My account, section “Adult section”.

How do I leave the adult section?

In My account, withdraw your consent. Your adult profile and photos stop being visible immediately, to everyone. Tick the box provided if you also want them erased; otherwise, you will find them again if you reactivate the section.

Safety: blocking and reporting

How do I block a member?

On the member’s profile, press Block. They can then no longer see your profile or your photos, or write to you, and you no longer see them either. They are not told.

The list of your blocks is in My account, Blocked members: you can unblock someone at any time.

How do I report a member?

On their profile, open Report, choose a reason (spam, harassment, fake profile, minor, content shared without consent, illegal content, or other) and add details if you wish. The moderation team reviews each report. To protect everyone’s privacy, we do not disclose the measures taken against another member.

For a message, open the conversation and choose Report under the message you received (the button does not appear under your own messages). The moderation team will be able to read that message, and only that one: it does not see the rest of the conversation. Even if the person deletes it afterwards, it remains readable by the moderation team for as long as your report is open. You may report the message of a member you have blocked.

You may have only one open report at a time against the same member, whether it concerns their profile, a photo or a message. If you already have one open, the new one is not recorded and the message is not added to the first one: you will be able to report the message once the first report has been handled. If the situation puts you in danger, block the person and, in case of immediate danger, call 911.

How do I report an event?

On the event’s page, open Report this event (you must be signed in). This also works for an event taken from a public source: the report then targets no member, and the moderation team may remove the event from the page. You may have only one open report at a time per event.

Someone is pretending to be me, or I suspect that someone is accessing my account.

Report the fake profile. For your own account, change your password and use “Sign out of all devices” in My account.

Photos

Are my photos checked?

Your photos are visible as soon as you upload them. The moderation team reviews them afterwards. If it removes a photo, it appears as “Removed” in My photos, with the moderator’s note if there is one, and it remains invisible to others. A photo reported as showing a minor or posted without consent is hidden right away while the team looks at it.

Who can see my photos?

It depends on the album: “All members” or “Private (access by invitation)”. In a private album, only the members you give access to see the photos. Manage this in My albums. Visitors who are not signed in see no photos.

Do my photos contain my location?

No. At each upload, the site re-encodes the photo and removes its metadata, including the GPS location. We do not keep the original file.

My account and my data

What is the difference between deactivating and deleting my account?
  • Deactivate: your profile is hidden and you are signed out everywhere, but nothing is erased. Sign in again with your password and everything comes back as it was.
  • Delete: your profile disappears immediately and you are signed out everywhere. Your data (profile, photos, messages sent, and so on) is permanently erased after 30 days. Until then, nobody else has access to it, but your email address and your username remain reserved.
  • Change your mind: during these 30 days, sign in with your password and confirm the restoration. Your account comes back as it was, with your profile hidden until you make it visible.

Both options are in My account. The details of what is erased are in the privacy policy.

How do I get a copy of my data?

In My account, in the section “My data”, enter your password and download a JSON file that contains your account and settings, your profiles, your albums, the information about your photos, your blocks, your contacts, the recorded profile visits, your reports and your conversations.

I forgot my password.

On the Forgot your password page, enter your email address: we send you a link valid for one hour. If you are signed in, change your password in My account instead.

How do I change my email address?

In My account. We send a confirmation link to the new address and notify the old one; the address changes only once the change has been confirmed from that link.

About the site

Where does the list of cities come from?

The names, regions and populations of the municipalities come from the Répertoire des municipalités du Québec of the ministère des Affaires municipales et de l’Habitation, published on Données Québec under the CC BY 4.0 licence. Their coordinates come from the Base de données toponymiques du Canada of Natural Resources Canada, under the Open Government Licence – Canada. We combined the two lists; the original data has not otherwise been changed.
